Quality Operator

Role & responsibilities Role & responsibilities We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Operator to join our team. The Quality Operator will be responsible for ensuring that all machined corrugating rolls meet stringent quality standards. This role involves performing precise measurements, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and ensuring adherence to specified tolerances and specifications. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of grinding processes, coatings, and ISO quality systems, with a preference for experience in sandblasting. 1. **Inspection and Measurement:** - Conduct precise measurements of machined corrugating rolls using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other relevant instruments. - Measure and verify parameters including Total Indicating Runout (TIR), surface roughness, and diameters. - Ensure compliance with GD&T principles and engineering drawings. 2. **Quality Control:** - Implement and follow quality control procedures and protocols to maintain high standards of production quality. - Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality databases. 3. **Problem Identification and Resolution:** - Identify and report any non-conformances or deviations from the specified tolerances. - Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues. 4. **Calibration and Maintenance:** - Maintain and calibrate inspection and measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. - Perform routine maintenance on quality assurance equipment as necessary. 5. **Documentation and Reporting:** - Ensure all inspection documentation is accurate and up-to-date. - Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement. 6. **Compliance and Safety:** - Adhere to all relevant safety standards and regulations. - Promote a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and best practices. 7. **Continuous Improvement:** - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency. - Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality measurement techniques and tools. 8. **Coatings and Sandblasting:** - Inspect and measure coatings on machined components to ensure adherence to specifications. - Possess a basic understanding of sandblasting processes and their impact on component quality. Preferred candidate profile - ITI/Diploma Mechanical or equivalent; technical certification in quality assurance or a related field is preferred. Experience - - Minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in a quality assurance role within a machining or manufacturing environment. - Proficiency in using GD&T measurement techniques. - Knowledge and experience in grinding processes. - Familiarity with ISO quality management systems. - Knowledge of coatings and coating measurement techniques. - Basic knowledge of sandblasting processes. Skills - - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. - Excellent knowledge of measurement tools and techniques. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. - Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Basic computer skills, including familiarity with quality management software. - Proficient in CAD/CAM software and other relevant production management tools.
