DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Quality Technician ensures that products received or produced meet technical specifications and quality standards. The role involves verifying product quality using advanced measurement techniques and tools, supporting quality assurance processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This position operates under moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify the final quality of products on the production line using dimensional and visual inspection techniques.
  • Compare physical characteristics of components, materials, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
  • Segregate non-conforming products using basic and complex measurement equipment (e.g., Faro arm, gauges).
  • Prepare dimensional reports for child parts received under source release or PPAP.
  • Conduct layout inspections, product audits, and process audits.
  • Support gauge calibration and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Document non-conforming products using specified systems and tools.
  • Train team members on measurement equipment usage and quality documentation.
  • Follow company-defined quality norms and standards.
  • Prioritize work effectively and demonstrate flexibility to support business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • Additional training or certification in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or related fields is a plus.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong proficiency in Faro programming and dimensional metrology.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings .
  • Sound knowledge of GD&T and AIAG core tools (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC).
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools and techniques .
  • Familiarity with source release and PPAP processes .
  • Experience in gauge calibration and MSA .
  • Ability to prepare and interpret dimensional reports .
  • Knowledge of layout inspection , product audits , and process audits .
