As a Quality Inspector for BIS Compliance focusing on webbing belts and lifting slings, your role involves overseeing the inspection and testing processes to ensure full compliance with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Your responsibilities include: - Inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods for conformity to BIS standards such as IS 15060, IS 3521, IS 2762, etc. - Conducting and documenting routine quality checks, dimensional inspections, and load-bearing tests following BIS methods. - Ensuring proper marking, labeling, and traceability as per BIS certification norms. - Maintaining inspection records, calibration reports, and test data in compliance with BIS documentation requirements. - Participating in BIS audits, surveillance visits, and coordinating with internal quality teams and external labs for testing and certification renewal. - Identifying non-conformities, supporting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance. - Ensuring production processes align with BIS guidelines and approved quality manuals. Qualifications required for this role: - ITI/Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Textile Engineering or related field. - Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control, preferably in textile-based safety products. - In-depth knowledge of BIS certification process and standards related to webbing products and slings. - Hands-on experience with testing equipment such as tensile testers, load cells, and measuring instruments. - Strong documentation and communication skills, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. The work environment for this role includes the factory floor with moderate noise and textile processing equipment. Physical activities like standing, bending, and lifting are involved, and the use of safety equipment and adherence to compliance protocols are mandatory.
