Job Overview:

Our company, a leading designer and manufacturer of road-rail vehicles, is seeking an experienced Senior Quality & Safety Engineer. The role is critical for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety before they reach our customers. This position involves developing and implementing quality assurance and safety management systems, conducting audits and inspections, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, extensive experience in quality and safety standards in the railway vehicle industry, and a proven track record of enhancing product reliability and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance and safety management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist the planning and execution of internal and external audits, inspections, and quality tests to identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyse data from quality tests and safety inspections to identify trends, root causes of issues, and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and design teams to integrate quality and safety standards into product development and production processes.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on quality and safety standards, including ISO, EN, and other relevant certifications.
  • Assist in risk assessment and hazard analysis activities to identify potential product safety issues and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on quality and safety practices to employees across the organization.
  • Manage the corrective action process, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in quality and safety engineering to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience (typically 2+ years) in quality and safety engineering, preferably in the railway vehicle manufacturing industry or a closely related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to railway vehicles.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQM, CQE) and/or safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed analyses of complex processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software and quality management systems.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety in all aspects of product design and manufacture.
