Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1.Quality Control & Inspection:

Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials (bought out and machined components), components (Filter Housings, Heat Exchangers etc..), and finished vessels.

Perform dimensional checks, weld inspections, pressure testing, and other relevant evaluations during stage and final.

Ensure compliance with codes, standards (such as ASME, ISO, or industry-specific standards), and customer specifications.

Use non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques (e.g., liquid penetrant, radiographic) to assess the quality of welds and materials.

Responsible for conducting Pre-FAT, FAT and SAT tests, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Performing Piping inspection of P&ID, Slopes, Welding documents & Borescope inspection.

Meet project deadlines by coordinating with the team for effective planning and execution.

Coordination with TPI for stage and final inspection in coded jobs (ASME, PED etc..)

2.Documentation & Compliance:

Prepare and maintain documentation such as Material Test Certificates (MTC), inspection reports, and weld maps.

Ensure that all quality documentation adheres to regulatory, Vessel QAP requirements as per the approved drawings.

Support the creation and validation of Quality Assurance plans and Inspection Test Plans for vessel manufacturing.

Develop and maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manuals, policies, and guidelines, Technical and process documentation, Inspection and test records.

Reporting on the daily documentation and inspection status.

Coordination with the team for daily progress and reporting to HOD for ZBS Components, vessel and piping.

3. Process Control & Improvement:

Implement and monitor quality control processes throughout each stage of the production cycle.

Identify root causes of defects or non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Collaborate with production and design teams to improve manufacturing processes and reduce variability.

Conduct regular audits of processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Document improved processes and integrate them into standard operating procedures (SOPs).

4. Supplier Quality Management:

Evaluate and audit suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components.

Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure materials meet specifications.

Prepare detailed inspection reports summarizing findings, defects, and actions taken.

Communicate discrepancies, non-conformances, and areas requiring corrective action to vendors.

Collaborate with vendors to address quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Conducing inspection at Vendor places for the outsourced activities.

5. Welding & Material Qualifications:

Preparation of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) based on project requirements.

Perform and supervise Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) testing to validate new procedures.

Maintain and updating of welder qualification records as per periodicity.

Verification of welding consumable with respect to project requirement and TDC.

6. Testing & Certification:

Oversee hydrostatic, pneumatic, and other pressure tests to verify vessel integrity.

Ensure vessels pass all necessary certifications, such as ASME "U" stamp, CE marking, or other relevant certifications.

Coordinate with third-party inspectors and certifying bodies as and when required.

7. Customer Liaison & Support:

Act as the point of contact for quality-related issues with customers.

Attend customer inspections, reviews, and audits, addressing any concerns about the product quality.

Provide technical support during vessel commissioning and troubleshooting, ensuring customer satisfaction.

8. Safety & Compliance:

Ensure that all manufacturing processes meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimize risks related to product quality and safety.

9. Training & Development:

Provide training to staff on quality standards, inspection methods, and continuous improvement techniques.
