Quality Control Head/Lead

As the Head of Quality Control (Localization) for Telugu Language, you will be responsible for leading the Quality Control function for all Telugu language localization outputs, which includes subtitling, closed captions, audio description, and other localisation deliverables. Your role will involve ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural authenticity, compliance with style guides, and alignment with client, partner, and studio specifications. It is essential that you demonstrate strong leadership, language expertise, and the ability to establish scalable QC processes while providing guidance to a team of language translators. Additionally, you will be required to maintain communication with various production houses to ensure that the quality of the files aligns with the specified requirements. Please note that this position requires you to work from the office. Key Responsibilities: - Define, track, and enhance QC metrics such as accuracy scores, rework ratios, and quality feedback loops. - Develop and implement QC standards, language style guides, and quality benchmarks specific to Telugu localization. - Establish standardized QC workflows across translation and subtitling processes. - Ensure that all localized output meets linguistic correctness, tone, contextual accuracy, and cultural relevance. - Conduct final-level QC on high-priority content, such as films and OTT content. - Maintain timely and structured QC documentation, revision logs, and audit trails. - Lead a team of QC reviewers, subtitlers, and freelancers. - Collaborate with studios, audio engineers, and editorial teams for script validations. - Work closely with Project Managers to ensure adherence to timelines, handovers, and delivery SLAs. - Partner with Product and Tech teams to enhance QC tools, workflows, and automation. - Act as the primary Telugu QC escalation point for internal teams and external partners. - Provide linguistic expertise for resolving client feedback and disputes. Skills & Competencies: - Native-level fluency in Telugu (reading, writing, speaking). - Strong command of English for effective cross-functional communication. - Deep understanding of Telugu grammar, idioms, region-specific dialects, cultural references, and tonal nuances. - Proficiency in Subtitling tools, Dubbing workflows, and QC checklists. - Familiarity with the media localization ecosystem, particularly in Film or OTT. - Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven production environments effectively. Qualifications & Preferred Background: - 6-12+ years of experience in Telugu post-production, localization, language quality work, subtitling, or media QC. - At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role. - Experience working with Movies OTT platforms, studios, broadcasters, or localization agencies would be advantageous. - Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant domain.
