Quality Control Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Incoming & Pre-Dispatch Inspection

Inspect incoming spare parts and traded equipment for compliance with technical specifications. Check mechanical dimensions, surface finish, welding quality, hydraulic assemblies, and electrical components where applicable.Conduct functional testing of equipment like pallet trucks, stackers, and BOPTs before dispatch.

2. Vendor & Supplier Quality Management

Coordinate with suppliers for resolving quality issues. Approve vendor samples before bulk supplies. Maintain supplier quality records and track defect trends.

3. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain inspection checklists, QC reports, and test certificates. Ensure products comply with relevant safety and quality standards (IS, EN, CE where applicable).Support audits and customer inspections.

4. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

Investigate field complaints and warranty failures to identify root causes. Recommend corrective and preventive measures to suppliers. Work with procurement and service teams to improve product quality.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong knowledge of MHE components (forks, masts, hydraulic cylinders, wheels, brakes, control systems).Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & technical datasheets. Hands-on with quality tools & techniques (calipers, micrometers, torque wrench, load testing equipment).

Vendor quality management experience. Good communication skills and willingness to travel for supplier inspections.

Experience in QC of Material Handling Equipment spare parts and light-to-medium MHE products. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, load testing, and safety features in MHE. Exposure to both fabricated and bought-out components QC.
