QC Microbiologist

• Microbiologist ensures product safety and quality by performing microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods, monitoring production environments for contamination, and maintaining compliance with GMP/GLP standards, involving tasks like culturing, data analysis, equipment calibration, and investigating out-of-specification (OOS) results. They prevent microbial contamination, ensuring products meet regulatory standards through rigorous testing, documentation, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Key Responsibilities
• Testing & Analysis: Conduct microbial testing (bioburden, endotoxin, pathogen detection) on raw materials, water (WFI), in-process samples, and finished products.
• Environmental Monitoring: Sample and test air, surfaces, and equipment in production areas to maintain cleanliness and low bioburden.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records, analyze test results, and complete reports in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Investigation: Investigate Out-of-Trend (OOT) or Out-of-Specification (OOS) results, author reports, and identify root causes.
• Laboratory Maintenance: Perform daily lab upkeep, manage media/consumables, and ensure equipment calibration and maintenance for accuracy.
• Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to regulatory guidelines (HACCP, GMP, etc.) and internal SOPs.
• Training & Leadership (Senior Roles): Train junior staff, lead micro team activities, and delegate tasks.
• Essential Skills & Qualifications
• Education: Degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related science field.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in microbiological methods, sterile techniques, data analysis, and lab instrumentation.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of GMP, GLP, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
