QC Inspector Cooler & Cooling Tower Unit

Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming Material Inspection

• Inspect raw materials, components, and bought-out items (fans, motors, fills, casing sheets, hardware, etc.) as per specifications.
• Verify certificates, test reports, and vendor compliance.
• Reject non-conforming materials and prepare inspection records.

2. In-Process Inspection (During Assembly)

• Monitor assembly activities of coolers and cooling towers to ensure adherence to assembly drawings and SOPs.
• Check alignment, fastening quality, clearances, and fit-up of components.
• Verify welding quality, surface preparation, and structural assembly where applicable.
• Ensure proper installation of mechanical components such as motors, shafts, fans, bearings, nozzles, drift eliminators, and piping.

3. Final Inspection

• Perform final inspection before dispatch—visual checks, dimensional verification, flow checks, vibration checks (if applicable), and leak tests.
• Ensure equipment is completed as per BOM, design specifications, and customer-approved drawings.
• Prepare final QC reports and release documents.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain inspection logs, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective/preventive action reports.
• Ensure proper recording of test results (FIT tests, hydro tests, assembly checks, etc.).
• Prepare final inspection reports for customer or internal QA.

5. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and organization’s quality procedures.
• Follow safety standards and promote safe working practices during inspection.
• Verify adherence to industry standards such as CTI, ASME, or company-specific norms.

6. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with production supervisors for timely rectification of defects.
• Work with design/engineering teams for clarification on specifications.
• Support customer inspections (FAT) when required.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of cooling tower and cooler assembly processes.
• Ability to read BOMs.
• Familiar with measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, gauge, dial indicator, etc.).
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
