Job Title: QA Engineer (Manual + Automation Exposure)

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in manual testing and at least 50% working knowledge of test automation.

The ideal candidate will be capable of designing test scenarios, executing test cases, creating detailed documentation, and contributing to automation execution and scripting. The role requires a good understanding of both web and mobile applications across functional and non-functional testing.

Key Responsibilities Manual Testing

• Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Perform various types of testing including Functional, Regression, System, Integration, Smoke/Sanity, UAT Support, and Cross-browser/device testing.

• Validate UI/UX behavior, responsive layouts, and platform-specific mobile validations (Android/iOS).
• Log, track, and manage defects effectively using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar.

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and test coverage. Automation (50%)

• Execute and maintain automated regression test suites using tools like Selenium, Appium, TestNG/JUnit, Cypress, or similar.
• Create/update test scripts under guidance or automation frameworks already in place.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline test execution (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI preferred).
• Identify opportunities to optimize manual regression effort using automation.

Technical Skills Required Manual Testing

• Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodology.

• Clear understanding of test design techniques such as:

• Equivalence Partitioning • Boundary Value Analysis
• Decision Tables
• Exploratory Testing
• Good understanding of testing across layers: Unit, Integration, System, UAT. Automation
• Hands-on knowledge of one or more automation tools/frameworks:
• Selenium WebDriver
• Appium
• Cypress
• Postman/Newman (API automation optional)
• Experience writing and executing automated scripts (Python/Java/JS).

Additional Skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL for backend validation.

• Understanding of severity vs priority, defect lifecycle, and test coverage strategies.

• Working experience with API testing using Postman, Swagger, or REST clients

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cloud device farms (BrowserStack, Saucelabs).

• Knowledge of usability testing and accessibility standards.

• Exposure to performance testing concepts (JMeter/Gatling).
