Senior QA Engineer

KDB, SQL-based validation

Azure data ecosystem

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute

  data validation strategies

  for KDB time-series databases and Azure-based data assets.
• Develop and maintain

  test cases, queries, and automation scripts

  to validate data ingestion, transformation, and reporting accuracy.
• Perform

  end-to-end validation

  of data flows across Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, and KDB environments.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Developers to troubleshoot defects, identify root causes, and recommend remediation.
• Validate

  data lineage, schema mappings, and reconciliation

  between source and target systems.
• Leverage

  SQL and q-scripting (KDB)

  for data profiling, anomaly detection, and quality assurance.
• Participate in

  agile ceremonies

  and support continuous integration/testing processes for data pipelines.
• Ensure adherence to organizational data governance, compliance, and QA best practices.

Technical skills requirements

• 5-7 years

  of experience in data QA/testing roles.
• Strong proficiency in

  SQL

  for large-scale data validation and reconciliation.

• Mandatory:

  Hands-on experience with

  KDB/q

  for querying and testing time-series data.
• Experience with

  Azure Data Assets

  Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage, Data Lake.
• Strong understanding of

  data warehousing concepts

  , ETL testing, and data lineage validation.
• Familiarity with

  API testing

  and integration testing for data ingestion flows.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Exposure to

  Python-based automation

  or

  CI/CD pipelines

  (Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of

  data governance, metadata management

  , and

  quality frameworks

  .
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related science field or equivalent.

Qualfications

• 4-6 years of work experience in relevant field
• B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech or MCA degree from a reputed university. Computer science background is preferred
