QA Architect (Automation)

Job Summary:

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and reliable test automation suite for the MAX Maintenance application ecosystem. This role requires a strong technical background, hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks, as well as the ability to perform manual testing and collaborate with the development team to ensure the quality and reliability of the MAX Maintenance products.

Responsibilities:

•  Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) test automation framework for our database-driven maintenance application suite, including web applications, REST APIs, and mobile app.
• Work closely with developers to identify critical user flows, integration points, and edge cases, translating them into robust test cases.
• Leverage tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright to automate UI, API, and integration tests.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate continuous integration and deployment, ensuring test suites run on every code commit.
• Monitor test results, identify and triage defects, and collaborate with the development team to resolve issues.
• Continuously optimize the test automation framework for performance, maintainability, and coverage.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team on best practices for test automation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the QA and test automation space.
• Perform manual testing and exploratory testing to complement the automated test suite.
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to understand application requirements and ensure the QA strategy aligns with the overall product roadmap.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the QA process and automation efforts.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience with API testing, utilizing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in manual and exploratory testing.
• Knowledge of performance testing and load testing techniques.
• Programming skills in C#, JavaScript, or a similar language.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry or with similar enterprise-level applications is a plus.
