Roles And Responsibilities -

• Anesthesia

  :
• Requires understanding of anesthesia-specific documentation: pre-op assessments, intraoperative anesthesia notes, drug usage, complications (e.g., hypotension, blood loss), post-op recovery.
  
• Capturing anesthesia time, type of anesthesia (general, regional), ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologists) status, anesthesia complications these influence coding and reimbursement.
  
• Querying providers for missing or ambiguous anesthesia information can be critical (e.g., if anesthesia risk or complications are not documented but were present).
  

• Radiology

  :
• Requires reviewing radiology reports, imaging study orders, radiologists interpretation, technique, contrast use, findings, impressions.
  
• Ensuring that procedure reports are sufficiently detailed to support CPT coding (modality, contrast, sequences, number of images, guided procedures).
  
• Identifying if there are missing or unclear documentation in radiology that affects billing: e.g., if a radiologists impression is vague or not well connected to the imaging performed.

Hospital Coding

• Assign

  ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT

  codes accurately for:
• Inpatient stays (DRG-based)
  
• Outpatient encounters (APC-based)
  
• Review diagnoses for:
