Purchase / Procurement Specialist

As a Purchase/Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing the procurement process for pharmaceutical products. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee purchasing and order management, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries based on forecasts and inventory needs. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and address any supplier-related issues. Monitoring stock levels, initiating orders, and working with inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels will be crucial to avoiding shortages or excess inventory. Compliance and regulatory adherence are key aspects of this role, as you will need to ensure that all purchased products comply with GMP, FDA, and other regulations. Maintaining accurate purchase records and submitting regular reports on purchasing activities will be necessary to uphold legal requirements. Your role will also involve staying updated on market trends, pricing, and new developments within the pharmaceutical industry. Identifying cost-saving opportunities, evaluating supplier performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and logistics will be essential to ensure timely product availability. To excel in this role, you should possess strong negotiation and vendor management skills, along with analytical abilities to assess trends and cost-saving opportunities. Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and regulatory requirements, as well as proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Excel, will be beneficial. Ideally, you should have at least 5-8 years of experience in procurement, with a preference for candidates who have previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
