Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Strategy

• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budget.
  
• Forecast procurement needs based on project BOQs and technical specifications.
  

Vendor Development & Management

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify vendors for specialized equipment and services (pumps, blowers, RO membranes, valves, dosing systems, etc.).
  
• Maintain vendor performance records and ensure timely deliveries.
  

Cost Control & Negotiation

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality.
  

Purchase Order Management

• Issue purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up on deliveries.
  
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in ERP systems.
  

Coordination with Project & Engineering Teams

• Liaise with design and project execution teams to understand specifications.
  
• Ensure technical compatibility and compliance with industry standards.
  

Material Inspection & Quality Control

• Coordinate with quality inspection teams to ensure goods meet required specifications.
  
• Handle non-conformance materials and corrective actions.
  

Logistics & Delivery Management

• Ensure smooth logistics and transportation of materials to project sites.
  
• Track and expedite shipments to meet project schedules.
  

Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

• Coordinate with stores for GRN (Goods Receipt Note) and stock tracking.
  
• Minimize inventory holding costs while ensuring availability.
  

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all procurement complies with ISO, safety, environmental, and legal standards.
  
• Maintain all procurement-related documentation including contracts, POs, and warranties.
  

Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing

• Ensure sourcing practices support sustainability and environmental compliance in water and wastewater management sectors.
