Purchase Executive (VMC/CNC Industry)

Job Purpose

To manage procurement of raw materials, machine spares, cutting tools, consumables, and subcontracting services required for CNC & VMC machining operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and quality compliance.

Key Roles & Responsibilities (R&R)

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Identify and source raw materials (steel, aluminum, castings,) required for CNC/VMC production.
• Purchase CNC/VMC machine spares, tooling, inserts, cutters, collets, and fixtures.
• Procure consumables (coolants, lubricants, electrical parts,Spm) as per production needs.
• Develop alternate vendors for critical items to avoid production stoppages.

2. Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers/subcontractors.
• Negotiate with vendors for cost reduction, credit terms, and better delivery schedules.
• Maintain approved supplier list (ASL) and monitor vendor performance (quality, cost, delivery).

3. Order & Inventory Management

• Issue purchase orders (PO) and follow up for timely deliveries.
• Monitor stock levels of raw materials and consumables to ensure availability.

• Coordinate with the stores team for GRN (Goods Receipt Note) and inventory control.

4. Cost & Budget Control

• Ensure best purchase price without compromising quality.
• Track purchase expenses and support management in cost-saving initiatives.
• Compare quotations, prepare cost sheets, and finalize procurement decisions.

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain purchase records, supplier agreements, and invoices.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with

  ISO / IATF requirements

• Support audits by providing supplier and purchase documentation.

6. Coordination & Support

• Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to understand requirements.
• Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing new materials, tools, and subcontracting services.
• Coordinate logistics for timely delivery and dispatch.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Knowledge of

  CNC/VMC machine tools, spares, raw materials, and consumables

  .
• Strong negotiation and vendor development skills.
• Familiar with

  ERP / SAP / Tally / MS Excel

  for purchase management.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
