Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities : Vendor Management :Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability. Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure advantageous agreements. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Market Research and Analysis :Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and emerging technologies. Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and product lines. Budgeting and Cost Management :Develop and manage budgets for procurement activities. Seek cost-effective alternatives without compromising product quality. Purchase Order Management :Generate purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure all purchase orders are properly documented and filed. Inventory Control :Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels to meet operational needs. Implement systems to track inventory turnover, aging, and obsolescence. Quality Assurance :Ensure that all purchased products meet quality standards and specifications. Address any quality issues with suppliers and coordinate returns or replacements. Compliance and Documentation :Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities for audit purposes. Supplier Performance Evaluation :Monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon key performance indicators (KPIs). Address any performance issues and work towards continuous improvement. Cost Negotiation and Reduction :Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings. Identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing. Forecasting and Demand Planning :Work closely with other departments (e.g., sales, production) to forecast demand. Ensure that procurement activities align with production schedules and sales forecasts. Risk Management :Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement activities. Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions or shortages. Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing :Source products and materials with consideration for sustainability and ethical practices. Evaluate and implement sustainable sourcing initiatives where applicable. Communication and Collaboration :Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, marketing, and sales. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
