Propulsion Engineer (Experienced)

About the role:

Our company is developing a methalox engine. This role could also be called Experiment Design and Execution Engineer. Your job will be to figure out what should be the next experimental test that we should carry out in order to improve our understanding of methalox engines. Ideally, you should have a series of tests in mind.

Experiment Design involves -

• Design a test Setup, and the working theory behind it, with all the numbers derived from underlying theory
• Ability to reason and identify where an actual test might deviate from theory.
• Ability to size and identity all the equipment we need to build/purchase for the given test.
• Identify the vendors and products we need to order the equipment from.
• Put together all the equipment, and conduct the test (safely)
• Identify the learnings from the test whether failure or success, and plan the next test.

Compensation:

upto 50 LPA based on experience (in selected cases, we can go higher also)

Location:

HSR, Bangalore (India)

Technical Qualifications:

• Since we are building from scratch, you must be thorough with the theory of compressible flows, Thermodynamics, Newtonian Physics, Solid Mechanics and Calculus.
• Studied Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• Basic experience with simulation software
• Ability to derive math equations that represent a given experimental setup
• Great engineering intuition
