Project Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily reinforcement, shuttering, and concrete casting activities according to project specifications and structural drawings Ensure proper implementation of reinforcement details including spacing, lapping, cover blocks, and binding as per approved drawings Oversee shuttering/formwork installation, ensuring proper alignment, stability, and support systems before concrete placement Direct concrete pouring operations, monitoring concrete mix quality, placement techniques, and curing processes Conduct quality control inspections at each stage of work to verify compliance with project specifications Coordinate with engineering team to resolve technical issues and clarify drawing interpretations Manage and mentor construction workers, providing technical guidance and training Maintain accurate daily logs of activities, material consumption, and labor utilization Identify potential issues before they arise and implement appropriate preventive measures Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations specific to high-rise construction Qualifications Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in supervising reinforcement, shuttering, and concrete casting works specifically in high-rise building construction Proven track record in managing structural concrete works for buildings of 15+ floors In-depth knowledge of reinforcement detailing, formwork systems, and concrete technology Strong understanding of structural drawings and ability to interpret technical specifications Experience with various formwork systems including traditional timber, steel, and proprietary systems Familiarity with concrete mix designs, placement methods, and quality control procedures Working knowledge of relevant building codes and construction standards Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage diverse construction teams Skills & Attributes Meticulous attention to detail in reinforcement and formwork inspection Strong problem-solving abilities to address field challenges proactively Effective time management skills to coordinate multiple concrete pours and schedule activities Ability to work under pressure during critical concrete placement operations Commitment to maintaining highest quality standards in structural concrete works
