Project Engineer - Electrical

Electrical Engineer under direction of Operational manager AE&S Project Team of Kongsberg Maritime, is responsible for the delivery of Offshore Marine full power systems including; power generation and distribution, protection, power conversion, energy storage, control and automation (PMS), ensuring the design meets customers contract and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E / M.E Electrical Engineering
• 6 to 8 years experience in Electrical Design in Marine, Offshore / Oil & Gas field (preferably from EPC background)
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Experience in specification, material requisition, and procurement of electrical equipment (generators, switchgear, drives, motors, thrusters)
• Familiarity with international codes and marine classification society rules: IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NORSOK, DNV, LR, BV, IRS, ABS
• Experience across conceptual studies, FEED, detailed engineering, construction & commissioning phases
• Hands-on experience in:
• Electrical power generation and distribution systems
• DP Class electrical systems
• LV / HV switchgear and transformer applications
• Synchronous generators and control systems (AVRs, speed governors)
• Induction/synchronous motors and control systems
• Propulsion/thruster drive systems and automation
• Energy storage units, cooling systems, Battery Management Systems
• Power system control and protection
• PMS / SCADA systems and interface coordination
• Hazardous area electrical installations
• Advantage: Experience in Control & Instrumentation design

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver electrical design solutions for Marine, Offshore, and Oil & Gas projects
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams, Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, and cable schedules
• Develop specifications, material requisitions, and manage procurement of electrical equipment
• Conduct power system studies:
• LV & MV protection and coordination
• Voltage drop/dip analysis
• Load flow and fault studies
• Harmonic (VTHD) analysis
• Arc flash and transient analysis
• HV & LV cable selection and rating
• Ensure compliance with QHMS standards for design quality and documentation
• Perform redline mark-ups and generate As-Built documentation
• Collaborate with lead/senior engineers and application teams to align solutions
• Take decisions aligned with project goals and minimize deviations
