The Project Engineer E&I is responsible for executing electrical and instrumentation works across industrial or infrastructure projects. The role includes design review, procurement support, site execution, vendor coordination, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems as per project specifications, quality standards, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering & Design

  • Review and understand technical specifications, SLDs, cable layouts, P&IDs, and IO lists.
  • Assist in preparation and verification of BOQs, control schematics, and instrument data sheets.
  • Coordinate with design consultants for approvals and clarifications.

2. Procurement & Vendor Coordination

  • Support in vendor evaluation and selection of E&I equipment and instruments.
  • Review technical offers and support in material approvals.
  • Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of panels, instruments, and electrical hardware.

3. Site Execution

  • Supervise installation of electrical panels, cabling, earthing systems, and field instrumentation.
  • Conduct loop checking, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure installation is as per drawings, QAPs, and relevant standards.

4. Testing & Commissioning

  • Lead functional testing of electrical panels, PLCs, field devices, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify electrical/instrumentation issues during startup.
  • Interface with automation/SCADA vendors for system integration.

5. Project Management Support

  • Prepare daily/weekly site progress reports and track milestones.
  • Coordinate with civil/mechanical teams for cross-functional tasks.
  • Ensure work is carried out safely and in compliance with statutory norms.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems (LT Panels, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, control valves, etc.)
  • Understanding of PLC/SCADA basics, industrial protocols (Modbus, Profibus, HART)
  • Strong in reading drawings SLDs, GA, P&ID, Loop diagrams
  • Familiarity with IS/IEC standards and safety regulations
  • Good communication and team coordination skills
  • Problem-solving and on-site decision-making ability
