WWF-India, one of the country's largest conservation organizations, invites applications from enthusiastic candidates with experience in managing multiple projects in field locations. WWF India's approach on sustainable community-based participatory conservation initiatives fosters community resilience and holistic development in forest-fringe villages. THREADS (Traditional Handicraft and Handloom Revival and Economic Advancement through Durable Solutions in Tiger Landscapes) is a project to revive and strengthen the viability of traditional handloom and related handicraft through women's leadership and gender main streaming. WWF-India has been long associated with developing the capacity of niche artists to help them develop environment-friendly products. There is an urgent need for further capacity building, market development, and community-based institutional responses to achieve lasting socio-economic change.This role involves strengthening and implementing the project activities, by working closely with the local artisan clusters in Sonitpur district, Assam. The position will be based in WWF-India's Brahmaputra Landscape, at the Sonitpur project office and responsible for the on-ground implementation, supervision of the Cluster Development Executives and coordination of project activities in close collaboration with the artisans within the Sonitpur cluster.Location:

Project Co-ordination
- Coordinate baseline, value chain, cultural archive and other studies on ground.
- Community Engagement and capacity building with women to form SHG/PG/CBO with project population
- Prepare and submit to the Project Manager: quarterly (monthly as needed) progress reports of all projects being implemented
- Monitor the unified project planning and management process to ensure timely implementation of the projects against the agreed deliverables
- Effectively communicate with the Project Manager for all project requirements/procurement
- Identify and communicate all risks and issues in the landscapes to the Project Manager.
- Uphold organizational policies and strengthen existing MIS, to achieve greater efficiency and operational compliance in the conservation landscapes.
- Strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures for landscapes.
- Design and deploy appropriate modules and processes for project implementation.
- Demonstrate processes on ground and build capacities of project staff for the same.
- Conduct regular planning and review exercises with the project team.
- Coordinate with different stakeholders at village, district and council level to select target households for project activities and leverage resources from Government schemes.
- Coordinate with technical agencies, consultants and market agencies to achieve project deliverables
- Work with the Project Manager to create communication material for the visibility of project progress on social media.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- M.SC./M.A. Social Sciences/ M.B.A.
- The candidate should have at least 3 - 5 years of experience of grassroot level implementation, community engagement with prior experience of handling sustainable livelihoods and social development projects with women in particular.
- The candidate should be output driven and be able to co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- The candidate should be process conscious and sensitive to diversity and vulnerability based on gender and ethnicity.
- Preference will be for candidates with experience of working in the region and in the preferably in the handloom and handicrafts sector in particular.
