Description

We are looking for an experienced

Progress Database Administrator (DBA)

to design, maintain, and optimize complex QAD database environments. The role involves system performance monitoring, automation, and ensuring high availability across Cloud Ops environments in a 24/7 support setup.

Requirements

• 38 years of experience supporting QAD products, Progress databases, or related infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows, Progress DB, and system performance tuning.
• Exposure to SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, AWS RDS, Python, Bash scripting, MongoDB preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure production environments and customer interactions confidently.
  

Job responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize database/system performance and ensure uptime SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis for performance issues and implement preventive measures.
• Automate routine DBA tasks and streamline processes.
• Create and maintain backup/recovery plans; execute data recovery when required.
• Develop test plans and support deployments in coordination with change advisory teams.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams for system updates and issue resolution.
• Share best practices and mentor peers across teams.
• Participate in rotational on-call support for production environments.
