Progress 4GL / OpenEdge Developer

The role of Progress 4GL / OpenEdge Developer is open for talented and passionate individuals with 2 to 10 years of experience to join our dynamic development teams. Your responsibilities will include end-to-end application development using Progress OpenEdge 10.x/11.x/12.x, working on complex systems, performance tuning, and modern enterprise integrations. For candidates with 2 to 5 years of experience (JL3/4): - Participate in full-cycle application development using Progress 4GL/OpenEdge. - Design, develop, debug, and test modules. - Handle basic database schema design and performance tuning. - Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and enhance system performance. - Utilize Progress tools like debugger and work with web services and ADM. For candidates with 5 to 10 years of experience (JL5): - Lead and design complex applications using Progress OpenEdge. - Prepare technical design documentation and conduct code reviews. - Optimize performance using Progress tools like Promon, Profiler, Debugger. - Mentor junior team members and take ownership of key deliverables. - Work with tools like CDC, Pro2, Eclipse/PDSOE, and XML parsing. - Manage Agile development lifecycle with DevOps integration. Mandatory Skills: - Progress 4GL/OpenEdge (10.x, 11.x, 12.x) - Strong understanding of Progress Database concepts including indexing, triggers, schema, and tuning. - Hands-on experience with application performance optimization. - Knowledge of ADM, AppServers, and Webservices. - Familiarity with tools like Debugger, Promon, and Profiler. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Additional Requirements for JL5: - Technical design ownership and documentation. - Team handling & mentoring experience. - Familiarity with tools and practices like Eclipse/PDSOE, XML parsing, Continuous Integration (CI) tools like Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Testing tools like ABLUnit, SonarQube, and experience in Agile/DevOps environments. Nice to Have (Optional Skills): - Experience in the US Life Insurance domain. - Experience in VPAS application development. - Note: Candidates with exclusive QAD development experience are not preferred for JL5 roles.,
