What does a great Application Developer resource do in Fiserv
Consults with project teams and functional units on the design of important projects or services. Helps support existing business systems applications and demonstrates proficiency and leadership within agile methodologies. Balances and prioritizes project work efficiently. Design applications, analyze and coordinate business enterprise solutions. Develops high performance micro services and sets high standards of code quality.
What you will do
The candidate for this position will leverage their knowledge of Java to focus on production and non-production technology systems. Their day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and maintaining reporting applications, addressing client/vendor/internal escalated requests for assistance, and engaging with implementation, systems, and/or development teams.
The ideal candidate must have an overall understanding of AI, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and fundamental multi-tier application support. Responsibilities also include rotating on-call duties, project participation, and business continuity support for card services processing, as well as Windows and Linux-based applications.
Additional tasks involve assisting in the development of scripting alerts to monitor production systems and responding to troubleshooting escalated incidents. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role periodically interfaces with clients, vendors, and business partners.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or relevant work experience
- IT experience with background in development or operations support with hands-on using Java a plus.
- Minimum of 2.5 years in support of a transaction processing Internet application or Internet Banking.
- Designing, developing and implementing software applications with technologies like Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot.
- Expertise on Kafka, event driven architecture, Security, IAM Policies and Networking.
- Experience producing & consuming REST API s and Relational & non-relational NoSQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
- Experience with web services and related Microservice technologies and Architecture, API gateway.
- A good understanding of data communications protocols such as TCP/IP
- Experience in full software development life cycle using agile methodologies
- Experience with Unix/Linux OS.
- Ability to write high quality code with automated testing.
- Ability to analyze business requirements, functional /technical designs, business level documentation and code development.
What would be great to have
- Knowledge of financial technologies, standards, and industry regulations (i.e., Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) are highly preferred
- Experience with Cloud deployment platforms such as Azure/AWS, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience with JIRA, Service Point and Confluence products.
- Experience with Splunk
