Professional Application Support IT

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Application Support Engineer to join our team. The role involves providing technical and functional support for business-critical applications, ensuring system availability, performance, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience in supporting enterprise applications, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 / Level 2 support for business applications, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of issues.
• Monitor application performance, availability, and logs using appropriate tools.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents, service requests, and problems raised by users.
• Escalate complex issues to development or vendor teams and follow up until closure.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, database, and network teams for application-related dependencies.
• Perform routine maintenance activities such as patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Maintain knowledge base documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Ensure adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
• Provide application support during releases, deployments, and testing cycles.
• Collaborate with business users to understand requirements and support change requests.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in Application / Production Support.
• Strong knowledge of SQL (queries, stored procedures) for debugging and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows servers and scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell).
• Familiarity with application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, IIS, etc.).
• Good understanding of ITIL framework and ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.).
• Knowledge of APIs, integrations, and basic networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience in monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, etc.).
• Basic understanding of DevOps / CI-CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes).
