Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily production operations to ensure production targets and deadlines are met.
  2. Ensure strict adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  3. Monitor performance of production staff, machines, and processes to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
  4. Lead, coach, and motivate production team members to achieve departmental goals.
  5. Ensure proper training, on-the-job training (OJT), and skill development of operators.
  6. Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to production staff.
  7. Ensure products are manufactured as per company quality standards and customer specifications.
  8. Promote and enforce a safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  9. Conduct regular safety audits and assist in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
  10. Provide safety awareness and training to operators and ensure proper use of safety equipment.
  11. Monitor raw material and consumable inventory to avoid production downtime.
  12. Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment availability, preventive maintenance, and timely breakdown resolution.
  13. Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies affecting productivity or quality.
  14. Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization.
  15. Maintain accurate production records including output, machine performance, rejection, and manpower utilization.
  16. Prepare and analyze production, quality, and safety reports for management review.
  17. Ensure all production-related documentation is updated and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

  1. Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills.
  2. Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes in automobile parts production.
  3. Good understanding of quality systems, safety standards, and shop-floor discipline.
  4. Ability to analyze problems and take quick, effective decisions under pressure.
  5. Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams (Quality, Maintenance, Stores).
  6. Proficiency in production tracking systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, reports).
  7. Hands-on approach with strong shop-floor presence.
