Production Supervisor – Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for understanding production requirements, preparing detailed production plans, overseeing day-to-day machining operations, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and supporting both quality and operations teams for smooth workflow. The role demands strong shop-floor presence, clear coordination skills, understanding of ERP functions, and effective manpower allocation to meet production targets with consistent quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand client requirements clearly by coordinating with the admin and documentation team, and translate them into practical production activities.
• Prepare structured production plans on monthly, weekly, and daily levels, ensuring they align with capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments.
• Conduct hourly shop-floor supervision, visiting all machines to check progress, monitor productivity, and ensure machining is carried out as per drawing and process flow.
• Verify dimensional accuracy of components in-process, guiding operators on corrective actions and escalating issues when required.
• Assist the Quality Department during final inspection, including checks, documentation, and final approval records before dispatch.
• Support operations in material movement, ensuring timely flow of raw materials, semi-finished parts, tools, and fixtures across departments.
• Use ERP effectively, including BOM understanding, workstation mapping, production order tracking, and updating job statuses, quantities, and deviations.
• Manage resources and allocate operators based on machine type, job priority, skill levels, and workload, ensuring optimal utilisation of manpower.
• Maintain coordination between production, quality, and stores, ensuring clean communication and smooth execution of daily targets.
• Ensure discipline and adherence to processes on the shop floor, while continuously improving production efficiency and reducing rework.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹18,500.00 per month
