Product Owner - Supply Chain

Hiring a highly skilled Product Owner/Functional Consultant - Supply Chain to lead the development and implementation of AI-driven solutions for optimizing supply chain operations. This role requires deep expertise in supply chain management, specifically in Discrete Event Simulation, Truck Loading Optimization, Yard or Door Planning, Warehouse Management, Route Optimization, and Order Aggregation/Disaggregation. The successful candidate will combine this domain knowledge with Product Owner or Functional Consultant experience to define, develop, and deliver AI products that enhance supply chain efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software developers, and supply chain operations, to ensure the successful deployment of innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Product Ownership: Define and prioritize the product backlog for AI applications in supply chain management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs. Develop and manage product roadmaps and timelines focused on AI-driven solutions.
  • Functional Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge of supply chain management, with specialized expertise in:
  • Discrete Event Simulation: Utilize simulation modelling to optimize supply chain processes, such as production planning and logistics.
  • Truck Loading Optimization: Apply algorithms to maximize truck loading efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
  • Yard or Door Planning: Optimize yard and warehouse door operations to streamline goods movement.
  • Warehouse Management: Develop processes for efficient inventory management, picking, and packing operations.
  • Route Optimization: Leverage AI to determine the most efficient transportation routes, minimizing costs and delivery times.
  • Order Aggregation/Disaggregation: Manage the combining or splitting of orders to optimize inventory and logistics.
• AI Solution Development: Identify opportunities to apply AI technologies, such as machine learning and predictive analytics, to enhance supply chain processes and decision-making.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software developers, and supply chain operations, to translate business requirements into technical specifications for AI solutions.
• Requirements Gathering: Elicit and document business requirements, ensuring AI solutions address key supply chain challenges and deliver measurable value.
• Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of AI-driven supply chain solutions, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Innovation and Research: Stay informed about emerging AI technologies and trends in supply chain management to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Agile Methodology: Operate within an Agile framework, facilitating sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and backlog grooming to ensure timely delivery of AI products.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, with demonstrated expertise in Discrete Event Simulation, Truck Loading Optimization, Yard or Door Planning, Warehouse Management, Route Optimization, and Order Aggregation/Disaggregation.
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Functional Consultant, preferably in AI or technology-driven solutions.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, predictive analytics, and their applications in supply chain management.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
• Knowledge of supply chain software and systems, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Familiarity with data analytics, machine learning frameworks, and AI development tools.
• Proven track record of delivering AI-driven solutions in a supply chain context.
• Certification as a Product Owner (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) or equivalent.
