Product Owner, High Availability, Storage & Filesystems

As a Product Owner at Red Hat, you will play a crucial role as a bridge between a cross-functional engineering team and various stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include owning and continuously adjusting the product-delivery team backlog to address short-term business needs as well as the long-term vision in the areas of High Availability, Storage, and Filesystems within the RHEL Engineering team. You will be a key member of the team, collaborating with Product Management, Engineering Management, Support, and Upstream communities to ensure smooth communication and alignment of priorities and deliverables. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance your leadership skills while collaborating with talented developers and stakeholders in the open-source industry. Your main responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in a cross-functional team, defining priorities, ensuring stakeholder alignment, and driving execution for RHEL High Availability. You will act as the primary point of contact between Product Management, Engineering, and other relevant roles to maintain alignment on priorities and deliverables. Additionally, you will work closely with the engineering team to split features and epics into manageable stories or tasks, define Acceptance Criteria, and communicate product goals effectively. To be successful in this role, you should possess strong prioritization skills, knowledge of RHEL kernel and userspace code related to filesystems, storage, and high availability, and the ability to resolve conflicting priorities while effectively communicating key insights to stakeholders and engineering teams. Ideally, you should have at least 3 years of experience in a software development or product ownership role, preferably in an Agile or Scrum environment, along with solid communication, presentation, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, you should be highly self-motivated, proactive in engaging stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Experience with shared ownership of software by a globally collaborative team is also desirable. Additionally, familiarity with tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, GitHub, GitLab, or similar, as well as open-source development practices, would be advantageous.
