Purpose of the Job

The Product Owner – Data role, will be responsible for understanding user needs and work
closely with key business stakeholders and users in translating problems or requirements into user stories and defining acceptance criteria. This role will lead in developing conceptual to-be designs and impact analysis for data requirements and implementation of these elements. The Product Owner will ensure that delivery of products align to business value and strategic goals. We are looking for someone who considers themselves to be an excellent team player with a positive attitude. This role will play a critical part in supporting Client to continue its journey to develop its data platform on next-generation technology.

Accountabilities

• Analyse data and processes to create user story/requirements with clearly defined goal
  and acceptance criteria.
• Work with designers to ensure there is a shared vision for the user experience and that
  user stories are ready ahead of development commencing.
• Participate in investigative work and consult with those with technical skills to seek
  effective solutions
• Participate effectively and collaboratively with users and the engineering teams.
• Analyse and document "as is" business processes.
• Capture & analyse data and reporting business requirements and convert these into Epics,Features, Prototypes and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Build stakeholder relationships.
• Work with stakeholders and product delivery managers to define, refine and prioritise
  Epic’s to be delivered in your team.
• Participate in parts of the the product lifecycle, from ideation and discovery through to
  requirements gathering and delivery, working within established product delivery frameworks.
• Identify data gaps and complete data analysis (e.g., impact, quality, migration &
  reconciliation)
• Work closely with engineers, architects, business requesters to develop conceptual designs for data projects
• Define, model and document reporting solutions and data integrations.
• Analyse and document “as is” process and model the “to be” business processes.
• Focus on end to end upstream and downstream considerations.
• Manage the team’s backlog.
• Create clear and detailed front end and back end epics and user stories in support of
  prioritisation.
• Always ask 'why' and use data to make prioritisation decisions.
• Participate in breaking our epic and feature roadmap down into user stories that are
  understandable and deliverable within our product delivery framework.
• Participate in feedback sessions with users / potential users to analyse their pain points
  and to suggest solutions and / or opportunities for development.
• Participate in development of product vision and platform strategy based on user research
  and input from cross-functional stakeholders.
• Create holistic estimates. Ability to support the development of a Business Case with
  agreed benefits and costs.

Qualifications:
Degree Level or above in Science, Maths, Computing, Engineering or related subject.
