Product Engineer / Senior Product Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

Identifying & Classification of electronic components. Enrichment of data with product attributes, images, and manufacturer specifications. Identification of missing or incomplete data. Rationalizations of parts by fit, forms, and function.

JOB CONTENT:

• Enrich and maintain product metadata for electronic components, including attributes like electrical parameters, packaging, temperature ratings, and RoHS compliance.
• Interpret manufacturer datasheets and extract key technical specifications for various component families (ICs, resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, etc.).
• Classify components according to internal taxonomy and industry standards (e.g., IPC, JEDEC).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sourcing, product management, and catalog teams to ensure data consistency.
• Work with tools such as SAP ERP, and BOM management systems to update and maintain product information.
• Review, verify, and validate enriched data against manufacturer datasheets and 3rd party databases.
• Support data quality improvement initiatives by identifying gaps, errors, and inconsistencies in existing product records.
• Monitor and manage lifecycle status of components (active, obsolete, EOL).
• Engage with automation tools or scripts (if applicable) to streamline data collection and enrichment processes.
• Provide guidance to MSR- Marketing Support Representative.
• Weekly review with Product Manager- Asset on Inventory / PBO and all Asset related issue.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 38 years of experience in product data enrichment, component engineering, or technical data management.
• Strong understanding of electronic component types, specifications, and datasheet interpretation.
• Familiarity with passives (RLC), discretes (diodes, BJTs, MOSFETs), ICs (analog, digital, mixed-signal), and semiconductors.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of electronic manufacturers and part numbers.
• Basic knowledge of RoHS.
• Experience in writing Technical product overviews, notes etc.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications like Excel for data manipulation, creating formulas and knowledge of shortcuts, and Access for database management.

This role will be based at Bengaluru, India.
