JOB PURPOSE: The Component Analyst’s responsibility is to take the Bill of Material (BOM) from our customers and manipulate to fit into our in-house quoting system, to facilitate the quoting process, and to extract this data from our system after quoting is complete back into the customers file using Excel. The Component Analyst will also be required to provide analysis and reporting using in house software and Microsoft office suites. JOB CONTENT: RFQ/file extraction for customer’s on-line quote system With Program Management, review RFQs received from customers (on-line, excel, pdf) to develop the most effective process to prepare file for quoting Prepare raw Bill of Materials (BOM) Analysis (when deemed necessary) to assist Program Management with quote upload strategy. (Incumbent vs incremental vs new) Manipulate raw bill of materials to prepare for upload, and conversion back into the customer’s format. Follow SOPs for uploading a quote, to ensure all relevant lines are captured for upload. Quote manipulation to provide summaries as required including: Pre-BOM analysis; Sorting/extractions (by Manufacturer / Business Unit / Region / Site etc), Subtotals Merge files Identify and communicate any missing/incomplete quote data resulting in potential problems in the upload/download of the data; and suggest solutions.
