You will be joining the Collective Newsroom as a Producer for BBC News Bangla based in Delhi & Kolkata, India. Your responsibilities will include error-free writing, editing, and producing digital content in various formats such as text, video, and audio for the Website, TV, Social Platforms, and podcasts. It is essential to maintain the highest professional standards in your work, exercising editorial judgment to develop story ideas and deliver accurate and impartial journalism. From April 2024, the majority of the BBC's Indian operations have transitioned to the Collective Newsroom, formed by experienced journalists in India. The Collective Newsroom is committed to providing distinctive, impartial, and world-class content in multiple languages, including English, through digital, audio, and television platforms. The team at Collective Newsroom aims to deliver credible and innovative journalism with diverse voices in the public interest. As a Producer, your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include: - Originating and producing original stories from various sources - Commissioning and selecting relevant materials meeting audience expectations - Ensuring all content aligns with BBC editorial and social media guidelines - Presenting live or recorded content on social media platforms - Increasing diversity in the workforce and reflecting audience diversity in the output - Coordinating with the input desk to produce unique content for the audience - Delivering high-standard journalism within deadlines without factual or grammatical errors - Monitoring and publishing breaking news with value addition and perspective - Acting as a bridge between team members and Editor for desired results - Following health and safety policies while carrying out duties To qualify for this role, you should possess: - High editorial judgment, writing ability, and production skills in digital journalism - Knowledge of analytics and audience engagement tools - Understanding of BBC News Bangla audience requirements - Ability to contribute effectively across digital and TV platforms - Commitment to improving diversity in the workplace - Prioritization and planning skills considering deadlines and resources - Creative writing skills suitable for multimedia output - Adherence to BBC editorial standards and attention to detail - Flexibility and adaptability to meet deadlines and changing circumstances - Understanding of health and safety procedures in digital media Apply before 5 November 2025 to be part of the Collective Newsroom and contribute to BBC News Bangla's mission of delivering quality journalism to Bengali-speaking audiences.,
