Description
Role & responsibilities: 1. Manage Relationships with packaging vendors to ensure timely, high-quality deliveries at competitive prices. 2. Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers and manage vendor relationship. 3. Maintain a list of reliable vendors and regularly assess their performance. 4. Ensure that all packaging complies with regulatory standards and meet product protection requirements. 5. Identify cost-saving opportunities in packing materials and processes. 6. Work reduce waste and optimize packaging design for cost-efficiency without compromising quality. 7. Manage timelines for packaging design and production, ensuring on-time delivery for product launches. 8. Regularly assess new packaging and materials for packaging innovation and cost reduction. 9. Lead initiatives to improve packaging processes, increasing efficiency, quality, and sustainability. 10. Coordinate with logistics team to ensure packaging meets transportation, storage, and shelf display requirements. Key Skills/Abilities 1. Knowledge of various packaging materials (e.g., paperboard, corrugated, plastic, glass) and their properties for different product needs. 2. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously. 3. Strong ability to negotiate with packaging suppliers and vendors to secure favourable terms, prices, and delivery schedules. 4. High attention to detail to ensure packaging meets the required specifications, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. 5. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams (e.g., marketing, logistics, production) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, regulatory bodies). 6. Familiarity with printing labelling, and packaging machinery used in the production process to ensure smooth integration of packaging designs with production lines. 7. Expertise in selecting the most cost-effective and efficient packaging solutions without compromising on quality or brand requirements.
