Process Engineer (EPC Project Compressor System)

Position Title: Process Engineer
Location: Pune

Role Overview

The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for a compressor system as part of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and finalizing process deliverables in compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain P&IDs for compressor systems and auxiliaries.

• Define process equipment specifications and align with vendor data.

• Perform process calculations (material & energy balance, compressor sizing, relief valve, pressure drop).

• Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, piping, and control teams.

• Review and incorporate vendor documents/package drawings.

• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO, and project standards.

• Prepare/update datasheets, line lists, and equipment lists.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent discipline).
• Experience: 3–8 years of experience in process engineering within EPC projects, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power sectors.
• Strong knowledge of compressor systems (centrifugal/reciprocating) and associated auxiliaries.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Familiarity with API 617, API 672, API 614, and related industry standards.

Good to have

• Exposure of HAZOP, SIL review, and design review sessions.

• Knowledge of process calculations (material & energy balance, compressor sizing, relief valve, pressure drop).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

• Process datasheets for major equipment.
• Line list and process input to piping MTO.
