Description
Overview: As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead innovative structural designs, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality project delivery. This role requires expertise in managing major projects, collaborating with clients, and contributing to the growth of both internal teams and external networks. Key Responsibilities: Develop creative structural solutions independently and within a team, producing high-quality calculations, models, reports, and presentations. Review and provide feedback on designs to ensure quality assurance and compliance with project goals. Present designs at internal workshops and lead external meetings with clients and consultants. Lead project teams, making timely decisions and fostering an environment of excellence. Collaborate with external clients and internal multidisciplinary teams to integrate design solutions. Prepare fee proposals, competition designs, and bids in coordination with senior colleagues. Coordinate with project team members, ensuring alignment with company and client objectives. Mentor and support junior engineers, guiding their professional development and chartership progression. Actively maintain and grow professional networks both internally and externally. Skills & Experience: 10-15 years of experience as a lead structural engineer on major residential and commercial projects. Extensive knowledge of building structures design across various projects using British, US, and European codes of practice. Proficiency in structural analysis software such as CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS, and SAFE, with the ability to adapt to new tools as needed. Chartered Membership of ICE, IStructE, or equivalent professional body. Masters degree (MTech/MSc) in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
