Principal, Software Engineer (Java)

As a Principal Software Engineer (Java) at Walmart Global Tech in Chennai, you will be responsible for leveraging your 15-20 years of experience in software design, development, and automated deployments to deliver highly scalable large-scale data processing Java applications. You should have a Bachelor's/Masters degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field, along with a strong background in system design, DS/Algo, and Spring Boot. Your role will involve hosting and participating in Architecture Review & Design/Code Review events, demonstrating strong computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. You will be required to have extensive hands-on experience in building services using technologies like Scala, Java, Springboot, Microservices, and NodeJs. Additionally, knowledge of web technologies like React JS, Angular JS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS will be beneficial. You should be well-versed in Restful and SOAP web services, messaging systems like Kafka/RabbitMQ, SQL and NoSQL databases, and unit testing frameworks like Junit, Jest, and Spock. Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD development environments/tools, and logging and metrics tools is essential. Your experience with search engines like Lucene/Solr and demonstrated end-to-end ownership of cloud-based projects will be highly valued. Furthermore, your strong hands-on development skills, willingness to learn new technologies, exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills will play a crucial role in driving change and influencing outcomes.
