Job Description

The job involves researching genomes and their modifications using CRISPR and knockdown technologies to understand the evolution and functions of toxins in venomous animals at different stages of development. The use of mass spectrometry imaging, spatial transcriptomics, in situ hybridization techniques, and modern computer tomography is essential to gain insights into the spatial distribution of toxins in the venom system and the role of the venom apparatus. The focus is on evolutionary and biological aspects to identify venom compounds for potential synthesis or production in adapted expression systems for bioactivity testing. The role also includes conducting bioassays and handling small animals to study venom effects. The position requires addressing current challenges and adopting relevant theoretical, basic, and applied research disciplines in modern venomics. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Zoology or Biotechnology with expertise in Snakes, Snakebites, and New Technologies in Venomics. Additionally, post-PhD experience of at least 2 years in an industry R&D setting is necessary to qualify for this role.,
