Job Description: You will be responsible for leading and managing highway design projects from feasibility to detailed design and delivery. Your role will involve providing technical guidance, collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders, and ensuring project execution meets expectations. As a Principal Engineer, Roads, REC at Ramboll, your key responsibilities will include: - Leading and managing the design and engineering of highway and roadway projects, overseeing the production of drawings. - Providing technical guidance to design teams to ensure compliance with codes and guidelines. - Developing and reviewing engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for highway infrastructure projects. - Collaborating with PBU managers and coordinating with other disciplines for project delivery. - Reviewing and approving engineering designs, drawings, and calculations. - Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet delivery milestones. - Mentoring and guiding junior engineers and design staff for professional development. - Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies for road design and construction. - Utilizing software tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other relevant engineering design applications. - Staying updated on emerging technologies, materials, and best practices in highway engineering. - Overseeing quality control and assurance processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal teams and external clients. Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering (M.Tech preferred). - Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in highway design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. - Strong knowledge of design software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, etc. - Familiarity with DMRB codes (IRC, MoRTH, AASHTO, DMRB). - Proven ability to manage large-scale design projects and multidisciplinary teams. - Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
