Principal Engineer Quality Assurance

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 8 years Location: Mumbai JobType: full-time We are seeking a technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal QA Engineer to lead and enhance manual and automated testing initiatives for high-performing SaaS products. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping quality processes, building scalable manual and automated testing frameworks, and ensuring the stability and reliability of product releases. You will be responsible for designing and executing thorough test strategies, collaborating across cross-functional teams, and driving continuous quality improvements. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both functional and non-functional testing, with a strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud environments. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and cases for web and mobile product features. Detect, document, and track bugs and enhancements early in the release cycle. Perform regression, exploratory, and system testing to ensure high-quality releases. Provide clear and timely feedback on requirement specifications and design documents. Develop reusable test frameworks and ensure test coverage across all product layers. Conduct non-functional testing such as load, performance, and security testing. Collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to resolve issues and support production releases. Engage in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes. Lead testing efforts on distributed systems hosted in cloud environments such as AWS. Ensure timely delivery through planning, proactive communication, and efficient execution. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 8 to 10 years of experience in QA/testing roles, preferably with SaaS platforms. Proven expertise in both manual and automation testing using tools like Selenium, JUnit, jMeter, Appium, Postman, and XPath. Strong experience in testing APIs, distributed systems, and mobile/web applications. Hands-on experience with performance, load, and security testing. Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and working in CI/CD environments. Exposure to DevOps practices is a strong plus. Working knowledge of Java and related development practices. Experience in Agile development environments. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
