Principal Engineer - Mobile Applications

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Engineer to lead our mobile application development efforts. This multifaceted role requires expertise in architecture, development, code reviews, and a deep understanding of native, hybrid, and progressive web applications. What You ll Do: Architecture Design: Design scalable and efficient mobile architectures Create technical specifications based on customer requirements and product vision Develop reusable assets to streamline development across multiple projects Development: Lead development efforts in native (Android, iOS), hybrid, and progressive web applications Implement complex features using Kotlin Multiplatform for cross-platform development Code Review and Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices Customer Product Focus: Collaborate with product managers to translate customer requirements into technical solutions Participate in customer meetings to gather requirements and provide technical expertise Align technical decisions with overall product strategy and roadmap Technology Leadership: Evaluate and recommend new technologies and frameworks for mobile development Stay current with the latest trends in mobile and IoT technologies Contribute to the companys technical vision and strategy Who You Are: 10+ years of experience in mobile application development Proven experience as a technical lead or architect on large-scale mobile projects Hands on expertise in both Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) development Experience with hybrid frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) Strong knowledge of Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) for cross-platform development Familiarity with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP) and cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT) Experience designing, implementing and consuming RESTful APIs, GraphQL and WebSockets Strong understanding of mobile security best practices and OWASP guidelines Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor other developers Outstanding communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI for modern UI development Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications Experience with machine learning and edge computing in mobile contexts is a plus. Contributions to open-source mobile projects or frameworks Experience with Agile methodologies and leading distributed teams Publications or speaking engagements related to mobile development or IoT
