Principal Engineer- Linux & Infrastructure

As a talented and motivated Principal Engineer at Arcesium, you will join our Infrastructure Development team to work on internal projects and support Engineering Managers. Your role will be pivotal in driving critical initiatives to help achieve Arcesium's strategic goals and growth. The Infrastructure Development team oversees various functional areas such as Access & Identity Management, Linux Compute, Discovery, Networking, Observability, SDLC, and Storage. These areas, built on AWS, form the foundation of our customer-facing financial technology platform. As part of this high-impact engineering team, you will be involved in building new services, automating systems, integrating cloud & open-source software, and operating critical systems as per the firm's requirements. Your responsibilities will include: - Contributing to the development of the next generation of IT infrastructure, including containers infrastructure using Docker & Kubernetes cluster - Offering expertise on and evaluating architectural decisions for infrastructure projects/products - Managing and enhancing the firm's essential IT infrastructure such as Linux, Windows, Git, DNS, Kerberos, Syslog, Apache, Perl, Python, E-mail, Ansible, ELK - Ensuring the security and integrity of the firm's and customers" data - Mitigating the risk of system failures and implementing controls to detect failures - Collaborating with tech teams to ensure the infrastructure can dynamically scale based on usage patterns - Developing messaging for senior stakeholders in coordination with internal teams - Building and nurturing relationships with internal stakeholders and Application Engineering teams - Engaging with all stakeholders, creating project plans, release notes, and conducting governance meetings regularly To excel in this role, you should possess: - 10-20 years of experience in system administration/software engineering - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python/C/Go/Haskell - Strong knowledge of Unix systems, web technologies, AWS, and Kubernetes - Experience with tools and processes for managing, understanding, and debugging complex distributed systems - Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively within and across teams - Self-motivation, independent thinking, and a team-player mindset - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to multitask, manage multiple deliverables, and maintain a positive attitude to get things done efficiently,
