Principal Data Engineer

As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be responsible for leading our data engineering efforts by designing and building robust data pipelines, optimizing data architecture, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making. Your main responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for large datasets, collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and ensure data quality, implementing data modeling techniques, and maintaining data architecture best practices. You will also be optimizing data storage and retrieval processes to improve performance and efficiency, monitoring data flow, troubleshooting data-related issues in a timely manner, and documenting data engineering processes while maintaining data dictionaries. To be successful in this role, you should have 6-8 years of experience in data engineering or a related field. You should be proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, have strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and hands-on experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka. Additionally, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, knowledge of data warehousing solutions and ETL processes, experience with data modeling and data architecture principles, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
