Our sister concern, Vennar Ceramics Limited is engaged in the manufacturing of ceramic wall, parking and roof tiles. Products from both the companies are marketed under the brand name of Anjani Tek. We have the unique distinction of previously being the joint venture partners to both of Indias leading tile brand as well as sanitaryware brand. Our state-of- the-art factories are located near Vijayawada and Tirupati catering to all southern states. As an upcoming brand in the Indian Tiles industry, our aim is to drive technical innovation through fundamental understanding of ceramic/glass properties and pass on the benefits to the end user. Job Description We are seeking a motivated and out of box thinker to lead our R&D team as Principal Ceramic Scientist. You will be responsible for research in the fields of improving mechanical and optical properties of ceramic/vitrified tiles. Starting from R&D to pilot scale to transferring to manufacturing, your expertise will be utilized. The job will be based out of Hyderabad but requiring frequent visits to both factories monthly. Constant collaboration with factory personnel is also required. Key Skills 1. Strong understanding of fundamental ceramic/glass science concepts a. Grinding/Micronization b. Slip/suspension formulation c. Spray Drying d. Compaction e. Sintering 2. Ability to formulate Design of Experiments (DOE) 3. Knowledge in a. Particle size analysis b. Rheology c. Imaging techniques such as SEM d. Dimensional analysis by dilatometry e. Phase analysis by XRF f. Compositional analysis by ICP OES g. Mechanical analysis by flexural strength, hardness and fracture toughness h. Optical analysis by spectrophotometer 4. Knowledge in mineralogy and clays Qualifications PhD / MS in Ceramic Engineering or Glass Science or Metallurgy with a Minimum 5 years of experience
