Primary School Teacher - Arts Teacher

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate art education to primary school students (Grades 1-5), focusing on fostering creativity, self-expression, and an appreciation for visual arts. Your role involves integrating art into the broader educational experience to enhance the students" learning journey. Your key responsibilities will include planning and conducting structured art lessons that align with the school's curriculum and cater to the specific age group. You will introduce students to various art techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, clay modeling, and mixed media to nurture their artistic abilities. Encouraging creativity and self-expression through hands-on activities and project-based learning is a fundamental aspect of your role. Creating a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment is essential, along with organizing student art displays, exhibitions, and participating in school events like Annual Day, Art Week, and other celebrations. You will be responsible for evaluating student progress, providing constructive feedback, maintaining an inventory of art materials, and ensuring the proper care of tools and supplies. Collaboration with other teachers to integrate art across subjects is encouraged, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the art room/studio is a priority. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or an equivalent field. A B.Ed. is preferred but not mandatory for some institutions. A minimum of 13 years of teaching experience in a primary school setting is required, and a strong portfolio showcasing personal artwork and previous student projects is advantageous. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching young children and nurturing creativity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage a class with patience and positivity. Familiarity with modern and traditional art forms, basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy, and being organized, energetic, and adaptable are valuable skills and competencies for this role.,
