Pricing Manager

A Pricing Manager in Shipping / Freight Forwarding builds and manages pricing models, negotiates freight rates, and balances profit margins with market competitiveness for air, ocean, and land cargo operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Rate Procurement & Negotiation: Secure competitive freight and spot rates from shipping lines, commercial airlines, NVOCCs, co-loaders, and local transport vendors.

* Quotation Preparation: Calculate volumetric weights (CBM), container loads (FCL/LCL), and surcharges to deliver fast, accurate quotes to sales and client teams.

* Strategy & Market Analysis: Monitor global trade lane trends, carrier capacity, fuel surcharges, and competitor pricing to adjust rate cards.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to turn around RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and resolve rate disputes.

* System & Tariff Management: Maintain centralized rate sheets, tariff tables, and pricing databases (such as RMS, CW1, or custom ERP tools).

* Compliance & Reporting: Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., FMC rules, NRA issuance) and report on pricing performance and win/loss margins

Required Qualifications & Skills

* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Economics, or International Trade.

* Experience: Typically 3 to 10+ years in freight forwarding, shipping lines, or logistics procurement (often progressing from Pricing Executive to Assistant/Pricing Manager).

* Technical Knowledge: Strong command of container types, IATA regulations, CBM/chargeable weight math, and trade lane economics.

* Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, data analysis) and logistics/pricing software tools.

* Soft Skills: High-level negotiation, analytical acumen, stakeholder management, and responsiveness under tight bid deadlines.

Salary: 7 lakhs to 12 lakhs
