Job Overview

D Y Patil International School, Worli is seeking a caring, creative, and IB-trained Pre-Primary Teacher to join our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The teacher will nurture young learners through inquiry-based, play-based, and concept-driven learning aligned with IB philosophy, ensuring holistic development in a safe and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with IB PYP framework.
• Implement inquiry-based and play-based learning approaches.
• Foster development across cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language domains.
• Create a warm, safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Observe, assess, and document student progress using IB assessment practices.
• Maintain individual student portfolios and learning evidence.
• Collaborate with PYP coordinators, homeroom teachers, and support staff.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student development and progress.
• Integrate stories, music, art, movement, and sensory activities into daily lessons.
• Support the IB Learner Profile and encourage positive values and attitudes.
• Participate in school events, professional development, and team meetings.
• Follow school policies related to child safety, safeguarding, and well-being.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications:

• Graduate in Early Childhood Education / Education or relevant field.
• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE / ECE).
• IB PYP training or certification (mandatory or strongly preferred).
• B.Ed. / Montessori / Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 2–4 years of teaching experience in Pre-Primary.
• Experience in an IB or international school preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of early childhood development.
• Knowledge of IB PYP philosophy and inquiry-based learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a child-centric approach.
• Creativity in lesson planning and classroom activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
