Power BI Solution Architect - Remote

Requirement: Power BI Architect - Over all 8+ years of experience

Collaborate with business spocs and other stakeholders in the data model design & architecture

• Should have demonstrated experience architecting models with multi-facts, non-conformed dimensions etc.
• Advanced understanding of DAX is must
• Strong experience using external bi tools (ALM Tool kit, Tabular editor, DAX studio) within Power BI is essential
• Good knowledge on RLS and OLS implementation
• Understanding of Power BI Premium capacity is mandatory
• Paginated report development experience is must for the operational reporting needs
• Able to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in the data model and reports
• Should have experience reading gateway logs to diagnose gateway performance issues
• Good proficiency in SQL/PL SQL is needed
• XMLA endpoint, Power Automate/Power Shell/Understanding of Rest API is required
• Juggle multiple assignments with the ability to identify and prioritize critical items
• Coordinate with the stakeholders to gather the requirements, analyze and build solution
• Articulate and document development plans in written form for emails and for project documentation
• Exhibit flexibility in learning modern technologies and tools used within the organization
• Guide/mentor the team when they need help in understanding complex data models design, DAX, model optimization etc.

Skill Set Required

1. External BI tools

1. DAX studio for evaluating DAX calc, vpaq metrics analysis, checking the queries running against the dataset etc.
2. Tabular editor for OLS, updating the RLS logic in the live model, creating all the empty partitions, current day partitions manually in case of dataset failures, to use BPA analyzer etc.
3. ALM tool kit for deployment
4. TMSL/XLMA endpoint to manually refresh tables, partitions etc.

2. DAX

   sound understanding of advanced dax functions is required to handle complex calculations

3. Dataset optimization

   query folding, incremental refresh policy and strategize the partitions for better refresh through put, must have clear understanding of vpaq metrics and fine tune the models wherever feasible

4. Security

   test if the candidate has exposure implementing security with the combination of both RLS & OLS.
5. Understanding of

   Capacity metrics

   dashboard is a must to monitor the datasets that consumes high computation, storage, time taken to complete the refresh etc. Gateway log analytics experience is a great plus.

6. SQL proficiency

   is a must for data validation, optimizing views/procedures, supporting sql based near real time reports.

7. Subscriptions and bursting

   should be good in developing paginated reports to share the data with external vendors.

8. Power Automate

   experience is required to an extent as we refresh the datasets via enhanced api calls, bursting, load smart sheets, csv file to the database etc.
