Post-Production Colorist

As a Colorist at NxtWave, you will play a crucial role in defining the visual tone and color language across a wide range of content, from educational videos to brand films. Your expertise in color science, S-Log/RAW workflows, and visual storytelling will be essential in enhancing mood, tone, and brand consistency, ensuring that every frame meets the highest cinematic standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform color correction and grading on footage shot in S-Log/RAW profiles, ensuring visually consistent results. - Develop and maintain a cohesive color palette aligned with each project's narrative, mood, and branding. - Create custom LUTs and grading templates for consistent use across various content formats. - Collaborate with cinematographers and editors to maximize grading flexibility and efficiency. - Conduct QC checks on final outputs to ensure no color discrepancies, banding, or compression issues. **Technical Workflow & Delivery:** - Manage DaVinci Resolve workflows for color grading and final delivery. - Implement color pipelines that integrate seamlessly with post-production workflows. - Maintain color accuracy through color-managed workflows optimized for web, broadcast, and LMS platforms. **Quality Control & Consistency:** - Ensure visual consistency across multi-camera setups and varying lighting environments. - Maintain color fidelity between raw footage, graded outputs, and integrated motion graphics/VFX elements. **Collaboration & Creative Input:** - Work closely with directors and post-production teams to bring creative visions to life through color. - Provide on-set advice during pre-production and principal photography to facilitate post-production grading. - Stay updated on color grading trends and technical advancements in the field. **Qualifications:** - Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Colorist in a professional environment. - Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve Studio, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or other NLEs. - Deep understanding of color theory, LUTs, color spaces, and color calibration. - Experience with Sony FX series, Canon Cinema, Blackmagic, and RED cameras. - Strong attention to detail, creative sensibility, and excellent communication skills.
